The Performance Therapy Contest is a chance for you to participate in one of the biggest online car shows of all time, show off your street machine to other enthusiasts around the world and win a variety of fantastic prizes.
The purpose of the contest is to help enthusiasts get out and drive. Whether you enjoy going to car shows, cruising your local burger joint with the family, running the quarter mile or participating in local track days, show us how you enjoy using your car.
The rules are simple. Send us a picture of you and your ride participating in your favorite automotive activity. Make it fun and interesting, and write a few lines explaining why the picture describes how you have fun with your car. Check back often, most photos will be uploaded the same day they are submitted.
When someone new clicks a picture, it counts as one vote. Only one vote per picture per computer will be counted for official results. Each participant can only submit one picture per category, and finalists in each category will be selected by the number of comments. Only one comment/vote per person counts, but feel free to solicit as many people as you’d like to vote for your picture(s). The photo albums are powered by Flickr, and Facebook/Myspace/Twitter promotion is allowed.

Performance Therapy Categories
A Action Shot:
This is an open category. The only rule is that the photo has to feature a car and motion.
B Garage Scene:
Show us a portrait of your dream garage, you and your friends sitting around bench racing or a shot of your latest project. Must have a shop, garage or work-in-progress.
C Racing:
Road racing, autocross, drag racing, gymkhana, it all counts. Send us your best shot of your ride at speed and let the public choose the grand prize winner.
D Family:
The automotive hobby is all about family. From father/son projects to going for a Sunday drive with the kids, we can’t think of a more family-friendly hobby the hot rodding. Show us how your family participates in Performance Therapy. Group shots, photos from past projects, pictures of your first car, it all counts.
E Car Show:
We all love going to a car show. Local cruise nights and club shows, major national events, they all count. Grab your favorite car show photo and show us how you have fun on the weekend with your friends.
F PhotoChop:
Show us your best Photoshop skills and bring your dream car to life.
67 Prizes Awarded to Category & Grand Prize Winners
All photos will be ranked by popular vote. Entries with the most comments in each category will receive runner-up status and be awarded t-shirts. A panel of automotive aftermarket experts and photographers will choose a single winner in each category, who will receive a gift certificate worth no less than $200 from a sponsor company. The Grand Prize winner will receive a single system from each participating sponsor. The Grand Prize will be awarded for the most outstanding photograph out of all the entries, regardless of category. Prize winners are planned to be announced November 4, 2009.
Performance Therapy Contest International: Entry Information
Entrant criteria
The Performance Therapy Photo Contest is open to all enthusiasts and photographers, professional or amateur, from any part of the world. We welcome and embrace creativity and encourage images of people having fun with their street machines. However each contest participant must own the rights to the photo they submit. Submitting photographs you, your family or friends have taken is encouraged. Please do not submit photos taken by a professional other than yourself at a track day or show.
Entry period
Entries are accepted from August 3rd to October 30th, 2009. Entries must be submitted via the online entry form on the Performance Therapy website, and will be accepted until 24:00, October 30th, 2009, Pacific Standard time. Winners will be announced at the 2009 Specialty Equipment Marketing Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Wednesday November 4th. The time/location of the announcement will be posted on this site.
How to apply
Entries submitted as JPEG images via the Internet
Accepted JPEG images are color or black-and-white graphic files taken with digital still cameras and scanned data of photographs taken with 35mm film cameras or Advanced Photo System (APS) film cameras. Images that have been digitally edited with software are also accepted. Each entrant can submit one JPEG image for each category (a total of 6 images), with a maximum size for each JPEG image of 500kb. JPEG images exceeding this size must be compressed prior to submission. Full details regarding entry via the Internet can be found on the online entry form. Please follow the rules and guidelines stated therein to submit your JPEG images.

A total of 67 winners will receive prizes and products as shown in the table below. Winners of the Grand Prize, Category prizes and runners up will be announced live at the 2009 SEMA Show and will be posted online the day of the show.

*An exhibition of the work of the Grand Prize winner, Category Award winners and runners-up will be held on the Performance Therapy Contest Web site. The winner agrees to allow the organizer to use the winner's works and any other works sent by the winner to the organizer at no charge to the organizer. All costs, fees and charges will be the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners may be required to provide The Organizer with relevant tax information and to prepare relevant tax documentation prior to receiving the prize.
